Want to know why we’ve re-named our decks The Hunted, Forever Diamond and Dark Hours? Curious about how our playing card designs came to be? Unique typefaces, tiger stripe patterns and more, this three part posts tells all.
Part one, this post, reveals how our deck Forever Diamond has put a twist on a classic back design.
About the Forever Diamond Playing cards
The idea for this design came from how a house of cards is constructed. The stacking technique used, when displayed graphically, put a simple twist on the classic diamond pattern seen on the backs of playing cards used in casinos.
It also created a unique typeface and way of displaying the pips and court cards. No card front has the same pattern of stacked cards used to create this design either.
They're made in Canada. More specifically the cards are printed in Montreal and the boxes in Vancouver.
Our tuck boxes are custom made, they open on the side and we assemble each pack by hand. Each deck comes with a temporary replacement card incase a card gets lots or damaged. It has pre-printed guides you can fill in with a permanent marker.
